The Digispace Africa Research Fellowship Program invites passionate researchers, journalists, media professionals, and advocates from across Africa to contribute to critical dialogues on digital rights, internet governance, and media development. This initiative seeks to empower African talent to conduct concise, impactful research that addresses pressing challenges and opportunities in the continent’s digital ecosystem. By fostering local expertise, the program aims to bridge the digital divide and amplify African perspectives in shaping an inclusive, safe, and equitable digital future.
Objective:
Equip fellows with tools to produce original research on:
– Digital inclusion and accessibility
– Cybersecurity, data privacy, and online safety
– Socio-economic impacts of digital innovations
– Media development, advocacy, and sustainability
– Countering digital threats (misinformation, online harassment, hate speech)
Eligibility Criteria:
– Open to individuals with a background and interest in digital rights
– Demonstrated interest in digital rights, media development, or internet governance.
– Strong research, analytical, and writing skills.
– Access to a computer and reliable internet connection.
